I contacted MS tech support and the tech said "Office 365 A1 Plus is given to select schools and Institutions to use office suite free of cost, your institution falls under this category." He also said there is very little documentation on this because they don't want to broadcast it to everyone that they're giving away the Office Suite for free to select institutions. Where did these come from? Does this mean I'm able to use Office for free now and I don't need to purchase the other licensing indicated by our reseller?

What I'm confused about is I see in our tenant that we currently have an unlimited number of "Office 365 A1 Plus" licenses, which include Office Pro Plus already. They said this was cheaper than purchasing the A3 licensing. The reseller advised that we would need a combination of two subscriptions: Office 365 A1 and Office 365 Pro Plus in order to maintain the same functionality as E3 licensing offered. Our Office 365 Education E3 licensing recently expired, and we have been working with our reseller to find the correct replacement subscription.
